Ring Name: "Poison Bliss" Myra Benedict
Real Name: Myra Morgan Benedict
Date of Birth: January 7, 1981
Age: 26
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 146 lbs
Hometown: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Allignment: Heel
Looks: Myra is a naturally attractive woman with an athletic build. She has shoulder length, wavy dark brown hair with natural red highlights, and blue eyes. She's gained quite a few scars, though the most noticeable is a jagged one down her left cheek from just below her eye down to her jawline.
In-Ring Attire: Myra wrestles in a maroon sports bra, matching medium-length shorts, and maroon wrestling boots with black laces. She rounds out her gear with maroon fingerless gloves, a black elbow pad on her left arm, and black knee pads.
Out-of-Ring Attire: A black full body jumpsuit with many pockets, brown or black boots, and she'll oftentimes round it out with an unbuttoned denim jacket.
Bio: Myra began studying the martial arts from a very early age. A very quick learner, she excelled in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Hapkido, Kuk Sool Won, Hwa Rang Do, and Shotokan Karate. Her mother Deirdre was her greatest supporter, and was even directly responsible for teaching her BJJ. An avid football fan like the rest of her family, Myra tried playing the game with her brothers once, but broke her left arm in two places as a result.
Once she graduated high school, Myra opted not to go to college - instead focusing all of her attention on improving her combat skills, and participating in competitions. One such event stands out in her career - an openweight MMA tournament. She made it all the way to the finals, before losing (in very contraversial fashion) to a woman almost 20 pounds heavier than her - one Loraina Townsend. After the event, Townsend approached Myra with a proposition - to introduce Myra to Townsend's mentor - who expressed interest in training her. Interested, Myra took her up on the offer.
But it was arguably the worst thing she could have done. After a short drive, Myra found out the identity of Townsend's mentor - one Darrin Kisler. Kisler is a life-long enemy of the Benedict family, responsible for the brutal murder of Myra's uncle Tom during a wrestling match. Upon discovering his identity, Myra made several attempts to get away. But Kisler's self-taught army was already large, and she was caught every time. Myra was tortured for weeks and then even months on end, with one goal in mind - to break her. Eventually, despite fervored resistance, she succumbed to the pain, and then began to like it - which was exactly what Kisler wanted. And so, her corruption had just begun.
Corruption, and more training. While there, she added Sayoc Kali knife fighting, and Escrima stick fighting to her growing repertoire. But Kisler "helped" her in many other ways as well, including drastically heightening her senses - especially vision. Myra was without a shadow of a doubt Kisler's most promising "student" - her quick learning abilities becoming invaluable to the "teaching" process. But for a long while, Kisler could not force three notions out of her. Honor, respect, and tradition. Nevertheless, Kisler could not deny the fact that she was ready to leave full-time tutelage. And even though Darrin was banned forever from wrestling in North America, he encouraged Myra to participate in the sport herself - to test herself against some of the very best fighters in the world.
She signed with California-based Paradise City/Championship Wrestling, where she was to be only the second woman on the roster - alongside Josie Saito. But a career in PCW was not to be, as the company closed before she even got a match there. Next came the returning Blood, Sweat, and Chairs Wrestling out of Boston - all the way across the country. It was a hardcore promotion, something Myra didn't really like at the time. But it was building an outstanding women's division, which in itself drew her in. Not long after signing on, it looked like Myra was going to get into it with the Alaskan nutcase Iris Galiver. The two never got to meet in the ring, however, as BSCW closed its doors meer weeks following its return.
From there, Myra set her sights on the big leagues, in particular, the Universal Wrestling Federation! The UWF staff was really impressed with her in-ring abilities, and were quick to sign her on. She debuted in an eight woman battle royal to determine the positioning of tag teams at the upcoming PPV, Gold Rush. Myra did extremely well, lasting to the very end, when the Bod Squad's Bliss eliminated her. Being the loner that she is, Myra went into Gold Rush without a partner, and was eventually overcome by the Love Sisters, who went on to defeat the Bod Squad and become the new UWF Women's Tag Champions. Not long after Gold Rush, Myra signed with Dallas based Mighty Bastard Championships, headed up by UWF's Vice-President, Jessica "Fatality" Marshall. She debuted there with a singles victory over Gary Kobo III, and also won her first UWF singles match against one of the women who beat her at Gold Rush - Leanna Love!
Myra then went on quite a tear through both UWF and MBC. She did very well in MBC's 2X4 tournament, helping her team into the third round, and even outlasting her fellow members before being eliminated herself by One-Winged Angel, who went on to win the tournament. And ironically, has since (much more recently) asked her to join his Amity group - to which Myra agreed. Following 2X4, she had an encounter with her mentor, Darrin Kisler, who beat her into accepting that all her values for honor, respect, and tradition weren't going to help her in the long run.
But Myra did more than simply take the beating from Kisler. She fought back as well, becoming more and more vicious herself. At UWF's Eve of Destruction PPV, she invited her cousin, "Twilight Angel" Sonya Benedict into the ring, tricking her into a No Disqualification Match. In the end, Myra won when Sonya passed out while trapped in Myra's Venom Clutch guillotine choke. After that, Myra continued her violent ways, already having totally dismantled Gary Kobo III in MBC, and subsequently being pried away when she refused to release her Venom Clutch after the match!
Myra then worked as a hitwoman for former MBC Owner Jessica Marshall, carrying out various attacks on former "Superfly" Susan Davis. This of course angered Davis' close friend, "Mockingbird" Nina Grimsson, who took it upon herself to teach Myra a lesson. A violent feud ensued, resulting in the burning of Nina's coveted Detroit Red Wings baseball cap (given to Davis as a gift), the shattering of Myra's favorite knife, and the eventual breaking of Davis' leg! It all came to a head at MBC's PPV SplatterNad, when Myra and Nina faced off in the brutal Tokyo Suicide Match! Unfortunately, Nina got the win when Myra failed to answer a ten count after _both_ women fell from the ring into a bed of broken glass and Myra couldn't pull herself up in time due to a broken left arm!
However, MBC was also the site of a growing relationship between Myra and "The Atomic Son" Sean Malcomb. Despite his nonsensical paranoia about "the fish", and neverending love of beating MBC's Wrecking Crew security team, Malcomb was the only person who ever understand where Myra was coming from. The relationship gradually escelated into a romance - the only one Myra's had to date.
Unfortunately, MBC went on an indefinite hiatus shortly after that. In UWF however, Myra got involved in a feud with "Alluring" Arielle Starr. It ended at UWF's Gold Rush PPV when Arielle got the win after hitting Myra with her Starrstruck finisher. Many say the feud was lacking, as it seemed Myra had lost her edge. Whether truth or not, Myra went on hiatus from the company shortly after. In the meantime, she competed in DWO's WrestleKade X supercard, eliminating six men in the Deadly Draw match. She later supported "The Atomic Son" Sean Malcomb during his short stint in the British Wrestling Alliance, and then competed in the reality TV show, The Next Big Thing, before being kicked out following a loss to "Rodeo" Nevada Harris. She also spent a short time in the International Grappling Association.
While 2004 was certainly eventful for Myra, 2005 was even better. She finally faced her long-time rival Iris Galiver in the Wicked Voodoo V opener, a Kremlin Death Match. Unfortunately Myra lost the match, but it took two of Galiver's Iris' Insolence finishers for Iris to get the win. Myra joined the United States Jisatsu Project and quickly became an unstoppable force in their women's division, becoming the first and only Women's Champion before the company went under. But during that time, she also had several violent wars with fan favorite Ashlyn Summers. Once such bout, both women's debut in the company, was a 100 Light Tubes Deathmatch, and remains one of the highlights of Myra's career.
Myra also returned to the UWF alongside newcomer Moira Faith. And the two formed a deadly tag team called The Kindred. Throughout the last months of the year, the two terrorized popular women's tag team The Love Sisters on numerous occasions. The heated feud carried over to 2006, where the two teams settled things once and for all on the Saturday Night Rampage after Gold Rush. The rules? Both members of a team had to be bloodied before a pinfall or submission would count, Caine Tainer was banned from ringside, and Lolita's stolen cat Mr. Boo Boo was up for grabs. In the end, the Loves gained some measure of revenge, driving Myra through a table and pinning Moira. But as Moira revealed in the end, the loss didn't matter as much as the lengths the Loves went to in the match, which was exactly what Myra and Moira wanted.
When MBC came back, Myra returned to what she considers her "home" fed. She teamed with dangerous tag team Team Canada in a big six person tag against all three members of the Grimsson family. Though Team Canada scored the win, Myra's exchanges with former rival Nina were easily highlights of the match. Sadly, MBC's return was short-lived, and Myra turned her full attention to UWF.
That is, until she bought the New American Wrestling Council. With the money gained from selling the wedding ring of "Extreme War Machine" Corey Irons' dead wife Ashley, no less. And right off the bat, she made several major changes, including bringing in one "Bad Eye" McBaine as a hired gun to end Irons' career. On a more personal note, her relationship with Sean Malcomb was rekindled. However, the two years apart pursuing their individual goals meant the end of the romance. Nevertheless, their relationship grew in a very different direction. As far as her mission to end Corey Irons' career, McBaine nearly succeeded at NAWC's Violent Resolutions supercard, except that the Vancouver, BC fans rioted - saving their hometown hero. Frustrated with the result, and bored with her position as Owner, Myra closed the NAWC for good.
In UWF, partner Moira Faith left the company, meaning the end of The Kindred - at least for the time being. It was at this time that Myra revealed her respect for former rival Nina Grimsson, as well as became the newest member of Amity - a move many consider surprising. Unfortunately, UWF has been going very slow in recent months, leaving Myra with little work in the wrestling business.
It was then that she agreed to a deal with Steve Greedy, as his Lieutenent. However, she would ultimately abandon her obligations at his side, and join the women's division in SPW. It was at this time that her brother Jacen also joined the company. And although they haven't seen much action yet, both have had quite an impact already.
Myra is best described as a sociopathic anarchist. Her goal in life is to attain what her mentor calls, "Absolution" - "a world without rules and regulations, where you can do as you will, without fear of the consequences". She lives for pain gained through combat; and relishes in violence and bloodshed. Her weapon of choice is a crowbar with a sickle attached to its curved end, but has also been known to carry an assortment of knives, as well as her Escrima sticks. She sports a self-inflicted, jagged scar down one cheek from just below the eye down to the jawline. It was a ritual to signify her "graduation" from Kisler's Bloodhorn Dojo.
Gimmick: Cold, calculating, ruthless. These words define Myra Benedict to a tee. Add to that a viciousness matched by few in the ring. A master strategist, Myra rarely loses her cool. It has also been said that she is completely devoid of compassion. The fact that she has broken an opponent's leg is proof of that. Unlike many women wrestlers, Myra has a strong distaste for using beauty to one's advantage. Instead she focuses primarily on her in-ring skills and viciousness. She is a master of technical wrestling as well as the martial arts, and is a warrior at heart.
In the ring, she doesn't care as much about wins or losses as she does about hurting her opponent. She'll gladly use the weapons at her disposal, even if it's a stationary object ringside. In fact, Myra has a knack for using said objects for putting her opponents in quite awkward predicaments, i.e. butterfly suplexing an opponent onto the ringsteps. She is always calm, perhaps _too_ calm, and always focused on accomplishing her goals, almost never deviating from trying to reach her goals.
What goals? To create total chaos. To "challenge" those around her, seeing who can survive in "her" world. And if someone isn't a born survivor, she seeks to make them one, pushing them to their mental, physical, and emotional limits in the hopes that she can create something "stronger". Ultimately, she aims to create a world of total anarchy - which she calls Absolution. To her, Absolution has no religious significance. It is the state of being totally free from rules and moral restraints.
In short, Myra is a sadistic sociopath with a lust for experiencing pain through combat.
Entrance Music: "She Is The Dark" by My Dying Bride
Entrance Sequence:
[The lights dim to almost pitch dark as a deep, low horn is heard, ushering in the fast paced introductory riff of My Dying Bride's "She Is The Dark". The deep horn returns as the introductory riff ends.]
RA: ...And now, hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan...
[The curtains ruffle as the main guitar riff of "She Is The Dark" kicks in. "Poison Bliss" Myra Benedict steps through the curtains and onto the stage, arousing a massive heel pop from the crowd. She wears a maroon sports bra, a black elbow pad on her left arm, and maroon fingerless gloves on both hands. She also wears medium length, maroon shorts. As well, Myra wears black knee pads and maroon wrestling boots. She stands motionless on the stage, ignoring the crowd as dark eyes stare at the ring.]
# You have her sympathy #
# You have her tears #
# She tries only to take #
# All your fears #
ra: ...Weighing in at 146 pounds...
[Myra finally, and slowly, starts down toward the ring, the look of total concentration on her face as she mentally prepares herself for the approaching battle. She doesn't swing her arms, doesn't flirt or taunt the crowd in any way.]
# The pain she feels #
# When she drinks your soul #
# Is hers to suffer #
# It is her toll #
# Believe me, she's helpless #
# When she curses your land #
# When she swallows light #
# It's not her hand #
RA: " P O I S O N B L I S S "
M Y R A B E N E D I C T !
[She stops at the ring, not stepping in as the song's tempo slows a bit. Instead, Myra tests the ropes several times. She then steps over the second rope. Finally the tempo picks up again and the singing returns as Myra backs up against one side.]
# Poison awaits when you kiss her #
# Her heart cries out for you, for me #
# Untold misery is hers to serve #
# out for eternity #
[Myra bends backwards against the ropes, testing them several more times. Her eyes are filled with intensity as concentration still etches her face.]
# Out cold. Mankind will stay #
# forevermore if she gets her way #
# She can't help it. It's her curse #
# To sing your pain in her own verse #
[There is a brief pause in the singing as the heavy doom metal guitar riffs rage on. After adjusting the fingerless gloves on either hand, Myra turns her dark, icy gaze toward the entrance-way.]
# She is the dark #
# The nightmares you hide #
# The pain you feel #
# The suffering inside #
["She is the Dark" fades out as the lights return to normal.]
Movelist: Leg Lariat, Roundhouse Kick, Spinning Hook Kick, Thrust Kick, Spinning Roundhouse Kick, Front Heel Kick, Side Kick, Back Kick, Spin Kick, Leg Sweep, Palm Strike to the Nose, Knife Hand Strike, Palm Thrust, Headbutt, Single Leg Trip, Gutwrench Suplex, Wheelbarrow Suplex, Northern Lights Suplex w/ Hammerlock (no bridge), T-Bone Suplex, Butterfly Suplex, Ipponzei Shoulder Throw, Flying Arm Scissors, Dragon Screw Legwhip, Cradle Neckbreaker, Inverted Swinging Neckbreaker, STO, Short Arm Scissors, Fujiwara Armbar, Crucifix Kneebar, Kataha-Jime, Jujigatame, Shoulder Lock
Signature Moves:
Dominion Suplex - Leg Capture Suplex
Morbid Sting - Triangle Choke
The Traumatizer - Her brother Jacen calls this move the Killswitch. Myra stands behind the opponent. She reaches under one of the opponent's arms with one hand and places it behind the victim's neck and with her other arm she reaches around under the opponent's chin and squeezes across the opponent's throat. She holds this position until the opponent is almost passed out or about to tap out, at which time she lifts the opponent and falls back, dropping them on their head with a suplex.
The Corruptor - Kimura Shoulder Lock - Myra has the victim in a standard pro-wrestling pinning position. Myra controls the victim's arm, grabbing the victim's left arm with the right hand, coming under the victim's arm with the left and grabbing her own wrist. She then finishes by bringing her arm to a 90 degree angle and twisting to the right, putting pressure on the victim's shoulder.
Purge of Innocence - This starts out much like Myra's Shadow's Bane/Back Crescant Kick. Facing her opponent, Myra snaps her back leg out to the opposite side (left leg kicking to the right and vice versa). As the kick goes higher, she arcs it back toward her opponent (so when the left leg is kicked out to the right, it arcs back left toward her opponent, and vice versa). However, unlike the Shadow's Bane, the kick then moves downward, impacting the heel with the target area (the head, shoulder, sternum, stomach, anywhere above the belt). She may also do a variation of the kick, where the opponent is hunched over and she targets the back of their neck. The entire thing is all done in one fluid motion. Plus, with the speed and velocity that Myra snaps it off at, it becomes a very devastating kick. On rare occasion, it may also be used as a third finisher - especially if her opponent manages to duck the Shadow's Bane.
Setup: A palm strike to the stomach will work for both finishers, as it staggers Myra's opponent enough to allow for the execution of the two moves.
Finisher: Shadow's Bane
Describe Finisher: Back Crescant Kick - With her opponent in front of her, and her kicking leg being her back leg, Myra snaps it out to the opposite side (the left leg kicking out to the right, and vice versa). As the kick goes higher, she arcs it back toward her opponent (so when the left leg is kicked out to the right, it arcs back left toward her opponent, and vice versa), and striking the side of the opponent's head with either the side of the foot or the heel. The entire thing is all done in one fluid motion. Plus, with the speed and velocity that Myra snaps it off at, it becomes a very devastating kick.
Finisher: Venom Clutch
Describe Finisher: Guillotine Choke/DDT - With her opponent standing facing her, Myra applies a front facelock, then puts her other arm under her opponent's chin, palm down, and locks her fingers together crossface-style. With pressure applied, she then jumps and falls back, landing on her back, executing a DDT. However, her opponent doesn't flip over or fall to the side. Instead, Myra applies a body scissors, crossing her feet around her opponent's lower back and continues to squeaze their neck.
Strengths:
1) Technical Wrestling Mastery - It's obvious from her repertoire that Myra has a very solid technical background, giving her the ability and know-how to counter pretty much every maneuvers. And once she has an opponent on the ground, she's very good at utilizing a wide assortment of moves to keep them there.
2) Endurance - Myra has been athletically inclined throughout her life, making her body toned and capable of withstanding an enormous amount of punishment.
3) Anger - While Myra gets angry in only the most extreme circumstances, that anger helps fuel her aggression in the ring, making her so much more dangerous than she already is. While it does throw her off her gameplan, in return it makes her more focused on injuring her enemies. This will obviously be a huge advantage for her when rules aren't a factor.
4) Lightning Fast Reflexes - Through her extensive martial arts training, Myra has gained extremely fast reflexes, allowing her the ability to block and counter just about any hand-to-hand confrontation that presents itself. Very few people can even _match_ Myra's lightning fast reflexes, much less surpass them.
Weaknesses:
1) Left Elbow - Myra broke her left elbow in two places while trying to play football with her brothers as a child, and later suffered a third break at the hands of a bitter enemy. Although the bone has healed, there is that possibility that it may be reinjured should it be worked over consistently.
2) Anger - Again, Myra gets angry only in the most extreme circumstances. However, when she does get angry, it throws her off her gameplan, making her more susceptible to making mistakes. In return it makes her more focused on injuring her enemies. This will obviously be a huge disadvantage for her when rules are being strictly enforced, as she'll be much more liable to get disqualified.
3) Violent Nature - Myra now has a tendency to "go too far", which may result in her getting disqualified from her matches.
4) Speed - Unlike her extremely fast reflexes, Myra in general isn't very fast. While she can get around the ring at a fair pace, and snap off some of the wickedest strikes and kicks around, she'll never win a foot race. This means that unless she can ground much smaller, faster opponents, she'll really struggle to keep up with them. Luckily her reflexes are there to help balance things out a bit.
